Week 15

ICT and children

Especially for divorced parents. last weekend my daughter (eight years old) went with her grandparents to Oro pesa in Spain, where her grandparents have an apartment on the coast.

The beauty of the private ICT technology is, it´s still growing and becomes steadily more mature.

An example. During the trip with her grandparent ( from Belgium to Perpignan France and from Perpignan to Oro Pesa Spain), my daughter makes films and photos with here iPad. With her Iphone, she send the pictures and movies via whats App or skype.

It is a fantastic technologic: the IPad receive WiFi from the Iphone ( the personal hotspot  ) the data will transfer automatic to cloud ( Data storage ).

I miss two things in this private ICT technology. A simple communication between an automatic tool to erase the data from the IPhone and IPad ( Data storage  ) after the data´s transfer to Cloud, and no extra cost for roaming.

Maybe an idea for those, to develop kind of tools for data storage.

These week, i read in usnet the World's biggest particle accelerator starts up again after 2-year shutdown and upgrade! Fantastic news. But I’m really excited about some technical statements like: the petabyte. The petabyte appears is, not unknown in the world of ICT see bytes but the speed that we can achieve such storages, fascinated. I came from the 10, 20 kilobyte storages it´s took a long time to develop the Gigabyte! and then those fascinating sophisticated data collection systems.

Google have a new ICT home toy, It's called the Chromebit. Your´ll be able to turn a TV into a computer. A wonderful idea no comment, but what about the security? I’ll not been surprise when an outsider be able to log in via the dongle on your home network!

Antivirus
Antivirus is dead, says the maker of Norton Antivirus. See Antivirus is dead there are deferent way to approached those statement of Brian Dye! The Business security is practically secure by ICT security specialists. But the most household do not understand the security of ICT and have no idea how to implement a security software on different OS. I really can imagine, what Brian Dye try to explain!

De Homey is a controller with several radio modules, like wifi, bluetooth, zigbee en z-wave. A nice Star Wars look alike invention for home automation, with voice recognition. Again I have my doubts about the security.
